Do you often start projects with a “bang” only to then fizzle out? A troubling dilemma that effects a lot of people, myself included at times. Here’s a tip to try out the next time the fizzle creeps in…
Sometimes our loss of motivation has to do with entering a part of the project that isn’t fun. When projects first begin, there is an excitement, a newness and we can easily FEEL the rewards the project will bring. As time goes by, overwhelm can creep in. We may grow weary. We may more easily identify with the “pain” of our project tasks versus the joy of completing it.
When this happens to you, first of all, embrace how normal it is. This happens to everyone! Then, instead of focusing on the pain of the project, re-embrace the pleasure of it. Take yourself back to how it felt when you first began, see yourself successful. Notice all of your progress thus far and then begin again.

What project(s) can you get sizzling again?
