Coaching Tip to Liven Things Up!

by Susan Liddy

Got Monotony?

Life sure can feel mundane and boring at times. We get caught up in our routines so that everything feels “same old, same old”. Do you long for something to spice it all up? Well here is a very simple tip to help you do just that.
As you go about your day today focus your attention on the little things that typically go unnoticed.
Take notice of…
  • That tree blossoming on the street that you drive down everyday
  • The smell of fresh cut grass
  • The sensation of a breeze on your face
  • How the birds tweet and the crickets chirp
  • The coolness in the air as the night sets in
Challenge yourself to see what you can become aware of that you may normally miss. With each awareness embrace a feeling of newness as you continue to create your day.

Comment on this question:

What did you or will you notice today?

You tips for conquering boredom are excellent. Nature, and being fully present in it, work best for me.

Today, I have noticed how fresh the air smells, since I opened all the windows. And the lull of the traffic noise mixed with the birds’ songs.

And that’s only a beginning.

I love to go outside and hear the children playing. It seems that these days it is not something that you hear to offen. Children just don’t seem to play outside like they use too. Winter time I can understand, but in the summer time it is wonderful to hear there laughter and play.

I do like smelling fresh cut grass. Thanks for reminding us to pay attention to what is around us. It does make for happiness.
