SURVEY RESULTS: What Simplest Act Brings you the Most Joy?

Here are YOUR responses to my recent FB/Twitter Question: What Simplest Act Brings you the Most Joy…

  • Watering my plants and flowers in my real FAIRY GARDEN!!
  • Holding my lil’ grandson when he wakes from a bad dream.
  • Holding a clean baby and smelling baby powder & getting a “hug” from my blue and gold macaw
  • Hugging someone I love: )
  • Breathing
  • Watching my kids smile
  • Fresh air in the skin is a close second to enjoying the smiles and giggles of my baby girl =)
  • Laughing with my kids!
  • Breath work … oh and sitting on the sofa with my furry child (meow) next to me and just relaxing….
  • Smelling clean laundry that’s been line-dried!
  • A smile.
  • Picking my 2 year old up from daycare and have her run full speed ahead into my arms yelling Mommy! Then a great big hug and kiss… the entire day is instantaneously better!
  • A hug or hearing the words “You’re the BEST Mom in the world.”
  • Love.
  • Watching my dog run and play with his toys
  • Blowing Bubbles!
  • Playing with my dog and holding my nephew..
  • A steaming mug of brown velvet drank slowly while sitting in the hammock on my rooftop, watching the sunrise (or for sunset, substitute a cool drink). Many things bring me joy but this mixes in a feeling of content.
  • The scent after it rains!
  • Having my cat sleep on me. Susan, what about cleaning the horse stall? It may sound weird, but I really liked doing it……gave time for quiet contemplation.
  • Hugging my girls and nuzzling their necks
  • Having my 16 week old Australian Kelpie insist on sleeping on top of me when I’m laying on the couch, despite his size! :o ) Going sledding (well, dry-sledding/scooter/bike-joring here in Aus) with my Siberian Husky. I love feeling the wind in my hair, and the way she cries out from excitement after I put her in her harness.
  • Sitting in the backyard lawn swing surrounded by flowers and sunshine and bird songs.
  • Holding and talking with my 18 month old daughter. I love hearing all the new words she says and how expressive she’s become.
  • Spooning my huge cat, Sophie, under the covers. Seriously!
  • Hugging my puppies….:)
  • Spending time in fellowship with Christ:)
  • A shared smile with my husband.
  • Preparing a cup of tea. I can’t explain it–but there’s something to the ritual. Also, the warm goodness of it. :)
  • When my kids tell me they love me even when they are mad.
  • taking the first sip of my starbucks latte every morning!

Wow! Keep ‘em coming!

Lifting my head from the pillow in the morning in time to see my puppies wagging their tails, ready to pounce and cover me with doggy kisses. Then, letting them out only to have them run full speed back up the stairs and jump into bed with me again, waiting patiently for me to “get up for real” this time.
